Our Story

A tradition of excellence.

Ontario & Trumansburg Telephone Companies was purchased in the 1920’s by Hovey H. Griswold, the two telephone companies and their subsidiaries make up the largest independently owned Telephone Company in New York State. The companies are still led by the Griswold family. Now in our 98th year, we serve more than 12,000 residential and business customers.

Innovation at the heart of our business

From its earliest days, we have made a concerted effort to keep technological innovation at the heart of our business. Through four generations of family leadership, Ontario Telephone Company, Trumansburg Telephone Company and FLTG have expanded the business to provide interdependent technology and infrastructure solutions.

Hovey Griswold’s great grandson Paul founded FLTG in 1995 to offer deregulated services, such as telephone systems, network engineering and dial-up Internet services, to business and residential customers. When Paul was President and CEO of FLTG, he created one of the most cutting edge technology service providers in the country. Paul’s focus is on the relationship he brings to employees and customers.
